Struggling – Enter a Race. My plan!

So, anyone who follows me, knows that I have taken my time assessing and trying to figure out my next race.  I’m not a runner, Im a triathlete!  So until I had a plan in my head about which triathlon was next, i found it really difficult to commit to any winter running races!   A quick look back at my goals for 2016 that I set in January and I have ticked most of them off.

Failing to plan is planning to fail… My Plan for 2016!

So now is as good a time as any to set some new goals. So as a family we sat down and discussed all sort of holidays all over the world, I obviously kept promoting the destinations with ironman races.  We finally settled on a summer holiday to New Zealand with me getting to race my next ironman in Taupo (super excited)!  So with my next ironman now confirmed I’m here right now to give you the full run down that I have planned running and triathlon wise for the rest of the year and into 2017:

Running:

Jetty 2 Jetty – Half Marathon (21.1km)

Sunshine Coast Community Run Festival – Marathon (42.2km)

Triathlon:

Noosa Multisport Tri Week – Olympic Distance Triathlon (1.5, 40, 10)

Challenge Shepparton – Half Iron Distance (1.9, 90, 21.1)

Ironman New Zealand, Taupo – Ironman (3.8, 180, 42.2)

From there it will be well and truly time to re-assess and launch again!  But all ready I am looking at convincing the family to do holiday to Busselton, Western Australia or maybe Langkawi, Malaysia.  Who knows what the future will hold, only time will tell.  In the mean time its time to knuckle down and start training seriously again for a half marathon in a week and a marathon in 6 weeks!

Before I go, today I received a very cool little video of my last ironman in Port Macquarie, it gives me goose bumps and really helps to inspire my training onto my next race:

Keep watching to see my progress toward my next race.
